WEDS SOFTBALL RULES

CONDUCT -  My leagues are for those that love playing the sport without taking all things softball overly serious. These are "NO TOLERANCE LEAGUES", which means that there is no arguing ump calls, talking too much to the other team, and most importantly, those that bring a great, fun attitude to the field. I'll be at the games, but don't want to hear complains AT the games. If I can help, call me during the week and I'll give you my full attention.

WILL AN UMP MAKE A BAD CALL?  YES

WILL SOME OTHER PLAYER SAY SOMETHING THEY SHOULD NOT? Most likely, YES.   Please take a "passive" approach on it as this is only rec softball, only for those that are fun to be around. If there are any issues, you can let me know, BUT NOT AT THE GAMES.   Thank you!

ALL PARKS AND REC FIELD RULES MUST BE FOLLOWED -  NO SMOKING IN OR NEAR THE FIELD,  NO SUNFLOWER SEEDS, ETC. THEY WILL END OUR LEAGUE ON THE SPOT IF WE VIOLATE!!!!!

ATTENDANCE -  It is perfectly ok to miss games of course, but every player need to let their coach know (with my teams, on the team page), if they will be there, or not, BY MONDAY EVE OF EACH WEEK.  Knowing attendance is ultra important.

GAME RULES -

- Each night, teams play a DHer against the same team Pick who's home, then the 2nd game, the other team is home

-No new inning after one hour....all innings will be completed

-We'll do a flip flop if the VISITING team is batting next and up by 5 or more..then the VISITING team becomes the home team, if needed

- Any batting order is fine, no gender rules

- Be early to your games, limited grace period at best

- No rain outs   (may be elements that can postpone our games, (snow, lightning, etc)

- D warm ups before first inning.....NO WARM UPS BETWEEN innings

- League supplies game balls, one back up ball and score books. YOU MUST REPLACE ALL LOST SOFTBALLS IMMEDIATELY

- We start with a 1 and 1 count and you do get 1 courtesy foul if you have 2 strikes on your count

- Females have the option to hit the 11" ball.

- There are no intentional walks in the regular season

- "open league", so everyone needs to be in the lineup and rotate evenly on D if you are a free agent team.

- HR rule is 2 progressive (over the fence only) then the next one(s) is a single.

- Mercy rule -  15 after 5 innings

- Bat rules - ALL ASA bats allowed, utrip as well, however utrip bats will have limited effectiveness with these softballs (BADEN FIRE, green writing)
